Questions

The app missed a document.

Tap + on the bottom left of the crops view or the main photo thumbnail, then tap the + next to the rotate icon. Tap on the document you want to identify. If the app still can't find it, it adds a crop where you tapped, the size of the others, for you to drag into place.

A crop is a little off.

Tap the result, then tap the Crop icon, and drag a corner or an edge. A loupe magnifies the spot under your finger. Reset puts the crop back as it was.

A document is sideways.

Tap the result, then tap the Rotate icon. Each tap turns that document's file 90 degrees.

Can I give one document a different filter?

Yes. Tap the result, then Filter. A filter set there belongs to that document alone, and a lock on its result shows it. Apply to All gives every document the shared filter again.

Where do my files go?

Wherever you choose in Export: a folder in Files, your photo library, or another app through the share sheet. Files are named after the photo and numbered in reading order, such as IMG_0941-01.png. If those names are already taken in the folder, the app starts a new series and never replaces a file.

Does it read the text on my receipts?

No. Scan-A-Lot makes clean images and PDFs. It doesn't read text or add up totals.

How do I use it with Shortcuts?

In the Shortcuts app, add the "Split Photo into Documents" action after an action that gives it a single photo, such as Select Photos. It returns one file per document, with the filter and format you choose in the action. To split more than one photo, use a "Repeat with Each" action to loop through them one at a time.

To check the crops first, turn on Edit in App and Open When Run, then add "Wait to Return" and "Get Edited Documents" after the "Split Photo into Documents" action. The app opens on the photo. Tap Done when the crops look right; Shortcuts comes back, and Get Edited Documents returns the files.

Does it work on a Mac?

Yes, on a Mac with Apple silicon. Get it from the Mac App Store. It runs as the iPad app, in a window with menu bar commands and keyboard shortcuts.

What does it need?

iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later, or a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 26 or later.
