Scan-A-Lot: Receipt Scanner

Effective October 9, 2026

In short

Scan-A-Lot collects no data. Your photos and documents stay on your device and in the places you choose to save them. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it doesn't connect to the internet.

Your photos

The app reads a photo only when you give it one: by picking it in the app's photo picker, taking it with Take Photo, opening it from Files, or sending it from another app with Share or Open In. It finds the documents in the photo and makes their files on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

The photo picker gives the app only the photos you pick, so Scan-A-Lot never asks to see your photo library. A photo you take with Take Photo goes to the app and is not saved to your library.

Files the app keeps temporarily

Files you save

Exported images and PDFs go only where you send them: a folder you pick in Files, your photo library, or the app you share them to. To save to Photos, the app asks for permission to add photos. It can't read your library with that permission. What happens to a file after you share it is up to the app or service you shared it with.

Data collection

Scan-A-Lot doesn't collect, store or share personal information, usage data, diagnostics or identifiers, and it contains no third-party code that does. Its App Store listing says "Data Not Collected" for that reason.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
